Hamilton has long been renowned as Newcastle’s dining headquarters and its heritage as the home of Newcastle’s European Migrant population has ensured a strong tradition of great coffee in the area. Now its time to celebrate this great tradition by anointing the Hunter’s best Barista.
Incorporated as a part of ‘Taste of Hamilton – Good Food Week’ and sanctioned under AASCA guidelines, this inaugural event will be conducted under World Barista Competition Rules, providing an automatic place for the winner at next year’s NSW Barista Championships.
The Hunter Barista Competition is open to any resident of the Hunter, showcasing the expertise and creativity of the region’s best Baristas, within an exciting and vibrant festival atmosphere.
We are very pleased to be operating this competition under the auspice of World Barista Competition Accredited Judge - Saxon Wright. Saxon is the owner of Australian Independent Rosters, a company dedicated to the art of Coffee Roasting. He brings to this event a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise.
This is not only a great opportunity for the best Baristas but also a chance to promote the high quality of coffee service in the Hunter.
